Honey - a photoset on Flickr

Honey - a photoset on Flickr

These were taken in May. Much of the honey has already been eaten- it was good! We have only one hive this year (a swarm we caught last year) and this is the first year they've produced enough honey for us too.

Here's your mule- TEVA website

Here is a picture that's on the TEVA website (http://tsla-teva.state.tn.us/u?/rosemusic,58). Have you hugged your mule today?

TEL

What surprises me about TEL are the NPR audio files and videos that you can enjoy. My favorite database, though, is the Health and Wellness Resource Center. Check out the Drug Finder, Health Assessment tools and the video clips on health topics- very cool!

Blog fever

People here at UCRL are getting blog fever- run! It's contagious! Blog- making is very addictive. I especially like posting pictures. Since you're here why don't you vote in my poll on the right hand side of the screen?

Fun with Flickr

I've been playing with Flickr today (http://www.flickr.com/). Flickr is a website that allows you to upload and store photos online and to share them with others. You can make stuff with your photos as well- calendars, trading cards, posters, etc. It's kinda cool for people who are photo geeks like me. You can also get inspired by what other people are photographing by viewing their Flickr photos.

7 and 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners

Here is one of the activities from Learning 2.0: Which of the following 7 and 1/2 habits is the easiest for you and which of the habits is the hardest?

The 7 and 1/2 Habits of Highly Successfule Lifelong Learners
1. Begin with the end in mind (what is your goal?).
2. Accept responsibility for your own learning.
3. View problems as a challenge.
4. Have confidence in yourself as a competent, effective learner.
5. Create your won learning toolbox (what do you need to accomplish your goal?)
6. Use technology to your advantage.
7. Teach and/or mentor others (the best way to learn something is to teach it to someone else).
7 1/2. Play!

The easiest of the habits for me is the last- Play! I learn better when I get to tinker- hands on learning helps me learn faster.

The hardest habit for me is #3- View problems as a challenge. I tend to get frustrated easily when learning something new. I get impatient with myself.
